Making Peace With The Past, Making Room For The Future.

You can’t truly step into your higher self without making peace with your past self.

Last night I woke up from the craziest dream. All the details weren’t clear, and the details played out of order. The main parts I did notice gave me nostalgia, and in the dream, I heard the song Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd. When I woke up, the first thing I did was look up the song, and I was directed towards the movie as well. I had never seen it, so I decided to watch it because I took this as a sign, and when I did, I was hit with instant synchronicities and messages. Recently, I’ve been planning a trip, and while planning this trip, the only thing I can think of is “I can’t wait to start over, so I can leave everything behind. I want to step into a whole new identity, and maybe this trip can be the trip to change my life positively.”

Though this dream is so important to me and the trip itself is something I’ve been wanting for a really long time, I noticed watching the movie that I can’t truly move forward without making peace with my past first. The feeling of being ready to erase everything I've been through sounded tempting, it sounded promising, but the truth is, am I really erasing my past, or am I running from it? When I go on this trip next year, am I going with clean energy, or am I subconsciously bringing this pain with me?

The movie starring Reese Witherspoon is about love and union, romantically and within yourself. Finding peace with who you used to be and making room for who you are becoming. To unlock what the universe truly has next waiting for you, you can’t go with ungrounded energy. You must face your past, don’t try to erase who you were or the situations you’ve been in, take the wisdom and lessons from her, and apply them to the next version of you. Your past self, she’s been through and through it, may hurt to think about what she has endured over the last couple of years, whether that’s from early childhood or your teenage years, I doubt she would want you to forget about her.

You can be ready to step into the next scene of your life, or to take that life-changing trip, but remember that our past taught us lessons that we needed to become who we are today, or who we are meant to become in the future.

Don’t forget about HER.
